The first step in learning Animal Iridology is to learn Level I Iridology.
With this course you will learn the terminology and techniques used in Iridology. Practicing the technique of an Iris analysis is much simpler on a human since they are patient and can understand your direction.
Animals tend to be a little unsure of what is happening. When working with an animal you will need to work quickly, accurately and confidently.
Practicing on human eyes will help you to become proficient with the skills needed in Iridology and help you exhibit confidence when working with animals.
Animals sense our emotions, and when working with them, they need to feel that you know what you are doing.
With that, we are encouraging prospective Animal Iridologists to take the following course before continuing with Animal Iridology.

Information about the course
Upon successful completion of this Course you will be able to:
- Identify all parts of the iris
- Correlate the parts of the iris to the parts of the body systems.
- Identify various signs and markings in the iris and what they may mean for the client or animal.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the relationship between heredity, lifestyle, and signs present in the iris.
- Identify potential health challenges the person or animal is genetically predisposed to and may be experiencing.
This course will give you the confidence to perform an Iris anaylsis. You can then move forward with Equine, Canine and Feline Iridolgy.
Mercedes Colburn teaches one of the most well known Equine Iridology correspondence courses. Mercedes Equine course is an advanced style course and contains many case studies of horses eyes evaluated with the help of Dr. Dena Eckhardt DVM

Christina Rennie who was trained in Iridology and Animal Iridology by Georgina Cyr is currently in the process of co creating a beginners Equine Iridology Course with Claudia Harrison and Georgina Cyr. This will be ready in the fall of 2008.
This Beginners Equine Iridology Course will be meant to bridge the gap between human Iridology and First level Equine Iridology before taking Mercedes advanced Equine Iridology course.
Mercedes Colburn is also currently in the process of creating a feline, canine beginning iridology course.

Animal Emotional Blueprint Iridology Course.

In this course, you will learn how and why emotional issues are manifested in the physical body. Any physical symptom will always have an emotional connection or root. Emotional Blueprint Iridology will show you where the emotions are “stuck” or blocked and what part of the body the emotions are creating interference in, which may be different than the actual health problems a person may be experiencing.
The Iris reveals emotions and at what ages they may have become blocked or stuck in the cellular memory, which emotions they are, which chakras are being affected, and what the interferences are that are creating health problems.
The pupil of the eye will allow one to see the spirit of the person much like a crystal ball. It will reveal what the soul wants to communicate (to the practitioner).

Level 1 Human Iridology Correspondence Course:
How to work through the Level 1 Correspondence Course - A prerequisite for Animal Iridology
- Read through the Iridology Handbook by Kianna Smith for the first time.
- Listen to the Introduction CD track on the CD called Introduction with PDF files.
- Open the Iridology Training Program PDFs and review the eyes.
Listen to the Iridology Training Program CD #2 called Audios 1 - 2 - 3 which accompanies the PDF CD. - Spend some time reading the workbook again, as much as it takes for you to feel comfortable with the information.
- Practice identifying the different eyes by color and structure with the additional samples of Iris photos. Refer to the workbook as needed.
- Refer to the PDF CD of eye photos while listening to the audio as practice.Complete self-exam #1.
- Practice looking into the eyes of friends, family and animals you know well. Be sure to be respectful and do not spend more than 5 seconds looking into an iris. See Important information note below.
- Spend more time referring to the handbook and looking at the eye samples while listening to the audios.
- Completed the self exam # 2
- Practice more with friends, family and animals you know well.
Important Information to Note:
When performing an Iris Analysis, always ask permission to be in another beings space. It is an honor and a privilege to be allowed to look deeply into someone’s eyes, and respect for the client or animal in all aspects, is a must.
